Louis Moreau Chablis Premier Cru Vaulignot 2015 – $30,35. A beautiful open and elegant Chablis, but still in the appellation’s sharp and salty style.

 3 out of 5 stars

Another great product from super nice Burgundy producer Louis Moreau. This is less “grippy” in terms of acidity and more open and complex in general. You’ll feel the lemon and green apple notes typical of Chablis, but also a peach and anjou pear side that’s not unpleasant at all. The fancy nature of the wine reveals itself in the finish, where we get a lovely bunch of grilled almonds and candied lemon flavors that adds just an extra layer of complexity . I would say that with this kind of balance, you could probably let this sleep a few years and find something really interesting then. An incredible B4B at this price for a white Burgundy – no wonder this is the top-selling Chablis 1er in Quebec!
